Rooftop Music: Grgur Savic | Heart Shaping Sextet

Grgur Savic gathered fellow musicians to hold a half-hour concert on the roof of Urania on Saturday, July 18, at 8 pm. Everyone in the neighbourhood will be able to listen to the music live from their balconies and windows, and the wider audience will be able to listen via a live stream link on Urania.hr and the R+ platform! 

Grgur Savic has been living and active on the Berlin scene for five years. In Berlin, he regularly performs with his bands Space Tigers (grunge-rock-jazz), Pitch Shifting Group (interdisciplinary-live-art) and Heart Shaping (electroacoustic-chamber music), which he leads under his name.

For this very special concert on the roof of Urania, in his hometown and the neighbourhood where he grew up, he will perform in a sextet formation with his dear friends, famous Croatian musicians, presenting his short "free form sketch compositions" written especially for this occasion.

Along with Grgur on saxophone, the sextet consists of Mary May (vocals), Luka Čapeta (guitar and effects), Ivar Roban Krizic (double bass), Hrvoje Kralj (double bass) and Borko Rupena (drums).

Grgur Savic had the opportunity to perform and record with various groups and artists such as Free Willys, Bug, TUB Force, MiNiMe, Cromatik 5, Levačić & Savić, BK3 and others.

His new album called The Form, recorded in quintet formation with Quentin Tolimieri (piano), Fyodor Stepanov (bass), Chris Hill (drums) feat. special guest Vedran Ružić (el. bass), will be released this year and will be available for buying and listening at one of Berlin’s famous record labels.
