Meet the Japanese film crew and enjoy a fashion show and documentary that showcases incredible dedication, vision, and determination in preserving Japan's cultural heritage, all as part of the Hokiichi Hanawa - World Movie Movement programme.
Despite losing his sight at the age of seven, Hanawa memorised Japanese legends and mythology during his travels across Japan and enlisted people to carve them into wooden plaques. Due to his incredible dedication to preserving this valuable heritage, the stories have been preserved and have become key pillars of Japanese culture.
In addition to the film screening, there will be a fashion show by Japanese fashion designer Ikuyo Umezawa from Kyoto, who creates high-quality, elegant, and original designs by combining traditional clothing with Japanese kimono materials.
Admission to the screening is free, but the number of seats is limited, so please reserve your spot at info@urania.hr.
