The focus of the third event, “Buildings After Renovation,” will be on the structural and energy renovation of buildings – exploring how to improve the quality of living, increase the resilience of buildings, and reduce energy consumption and environmental impact in the long term.
Today, sustainability goes beyond the framework of corporate reporting and has become an important tool for addressing economic and social processes. In this context, a number of questions arise: What are the key challenges in building renovation? What are examples of good practice, and what are the most common challenges in implementing renovation projects? How can energy renovation improve the quality and appearance of buildings, increase their value, reduce costs, and contribute to better living conditions and comfort? And how can we ensure that renovation is only the first step towards the long-term and systematic maintenance of buildings?
Sustainable Hour provides a space for discussion on renovation models, as well as the financial models and instruments that Erste Bank develops and adapts to support investment in the renovation and maintenance of buildings.
Through examples from practice, we will discuss how cooperation between different sectors can create new opportunities for continuous building renovation and maintenance, particularly following the major wave of reconstruction prompted by the earthquake. Buildings require planned and continuous maintenance, while high-quality renovation is the first step towards long-term and sustainable building management.
